About MidiTake
MidiTake turns a recording into MIDI notes you can inspect, download, and continue working with in your music software.

A recording and a MIDI file are different kinds of musical material. MidiTake is built for the first step between them: choose one file, inspect the detected pitches and timing, and download a standard MIDI result for your next edit.
The free converter is browser-based. It does not try to hide uncertainty behind a polished preview. The result page shows the notes it detected so you can listen, inspect, and decide what to keep.
One recording, one inspectable result.
- Choose one audio or video file. The converter reads an audio track from the file when the browser can decode it.
- Review the detected notes. The piano-roll view and note list show timing, duration, and velocity from the generated result.
- Download the MIDI. Open it in a DAW or notation app and make the musical decisions there.
Keep expectations clear: MidiTake does not preserve the original sound, and the free transcription is not a promise of an exact score. Recordings with one clear instrument are easier to inspect than dense mixes.
More focused music workflows are in development.
MidiTake is exploring a higher-quality piano workflow and a full-song arrangement workflow. Those options are still being developed and are not available on this page. The current free converter remains the product you can use today.
We keep the product language simple: the page should show what the file produced, what is still uncertain, and where the next edit belongs.
