Terms of Service
These terms cover the free MidiTake converter and Piano HQ. MidiTake is operated by GUANGEN LIN, China ("we").
1. What MidiTake does
MidiTake turns audio recordings into MIDI files. The free converter runs in your browser. Piano HQ runs a piano-specific model on our servers. Both use automatic transcription: results are estimates and can contain missing, extra or wrong notes. Check the MIDI in your music software before relying on it.
2. Your audio
Only upload recordings you have the right to use. You keep all rights to your audio and to the MIDI you create. We use your uploads only to produce your result. We do not use them to train models, and we do not sell or share them.
3. Piano HQ previews and full songs
Free Piano HQ previews are available. Full-song purchases are coming soon. The purchase and refund terms below apply when purchasing opens.
- A free 30-second preview lets you compare Piano HQ with the free result. Previews are for listening only; they don't include a MIDI download.
- Piano HQ transcribes the full song before you pay. You see its length, note count and a note-density overview first, and you pay only if you want the result.
- Daily limits apply per network connection (for example free previews and full-song starts per day). The page shows what is left before you click.
- Piano HQ works best on solo piano or a cleanly separated piano stem. Other recordings may not improve on the free converter.
4. Price and payment
- Piano HQ costs $3.99 USD per song. There is no subscription.
- The $3.99 price excludes applicable taxes. Payment is handled by Waffo, our payment provider and merchant of record. Waffo calculates applicable taxes and displays the final total at checkout before payment. Your card details go to Waffo, not to us.
- After payment you can download the performance MIDI and the bar-aligned MIDI again for 7 days using your job link.
5. Your job link
Your job link is the key to your result. It is stored in your browser and is not sent to our payment provider. Keep it private: anyone with the link can open the job. If you paid and lost the link, email contact@miditake.com with your Waffo order number; we send a new link to the email used for payment and the old link stops working.
6. Refunds

7. Fair use
Don't use automated tools to submit jobs, don't try to get around the daily limits, and don't interfere with the service. We may block access that breaks these terms.
8. No warranty and limits of liability
MidiTake is provided "as is". We don't promise that every note will be correct or that the service will always be available. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about Piano HQ is limited to the amount you paid for the song concerned.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Payments already made follow the terms that applied when you paid.
